Step 04 · Balance

Hair Stronger Than Ever. The other half of the daily wash.

The pH-balancing conditioner that closes what Total Refresh starts.

Total Refresh pH Balancing Conditioner is the daily seal for hair worth the ritual. Formulated at a cuticle-closing pH (3.5–4.5) to flatten the cuticle that cleansing opens. Built with the same botanical roster as the shampoo, plus shea butter for deeper softness. Apply, wait, rinse. Hair softer, smoother, calmer than it went in.

For the ones who show up — and want their hair to show up too.

WHAT IT DOES

Closes the cuticle. Acidic pH (3.5–4.5) prompts the cuticle scales to lay flat. Flat cuticles reflect more light (more shine), grip moisture longer (less frizz), and release color slower (longer-lasting tone).

Conditions deep. Shea butter and Marula oil deposit lipids that porous hair has lost. Plant proteins anchor to the cuticle for lasting surface conditioning and smoothness.

Delivers slip without weight. A conditioning polymer system smooths the strand for tangle-release and softness — calibrated for daily use, never building up to heaviness.

Pairs with daily shampoo. Built to follow Total Refresh pH Balancing Shampoo. Same botanical roster, complementary chemistry, one acid-balanced ritual.

WHY pH MATTERS

Even the gentlest shampoo lifts the cuticle slightly — it's part of how cleansing works. Healthy hair sits at pH 4.5–5.5, but the wet, post-shampoo state runs more alkaline as cuticles open and the strand swells with water.

Conditioner's job is to bring the cuticle back down. The conditioner has to be more acidic than hair's natural state to actively close the scales. Total Refresh Conditioner runs at pH 3.5–4.5 — meaningfully more acidic than the shampoo's pH 5.0–5.5, calibrated specifically to do the closing work.

Flat cuticles are the structural foundation of every visible hair quality customers want: shine, frizz control, color longevity, smoothness, manageable styling. The conditioner step is when that foundation gets set. Verified pH in formulation, every batch.

WHAT'S IN IT

The actives we built around:

Ingredient Why it's there
Behentrimonium Methosulfate The primary conditioning quat. Mild, biodegradable, deposits a thin smoothing layer on the cuticle. Not a cleansing sulfate — different chemistry, different job (see FAQ).
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Deep-conditioning African butter. Replenishes lipids on dry, porous, or heat-stressed hair for softness and slip.
Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil Lightweight botanical oil rich in oleic acid. Adds slip, softness, and shine without buildup.
Hydrolyzed Quinoa + Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Soy Protein Plant proteins that anchor to the cuticle for surface conditioning and smoothness during the rinse.
Amodimethicone Cuticle-binding conditioning silicone for slip, shine, and tangle release on dry hair.

Never: parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, drying alcohols, or anything we wouldn't put on our own hair.

Full ingredient list (INCI)

Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Amodimethicone, Trideceth-12, Parfum (Fragrance), Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate.

HOW TO USE
  1. Wash. Cleanse with Total Refresh pH Balancing Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Squeeze. Press excess water from hair. Too wet and the conditioner slides off without depositing.
  3. Apply. A coin-sized amount for short hair, half-dollar for long. Mid-lengths to ends. Skip the scalp.
  4. Wait two minutes. Acidic pH needs contact time to close the cuticle. Longer for visibly dry or damaged hair (up to five minutes).
  5. Rinse cool. Cooler water at the final rinse helps the cuticle stay flat. Less frizz, more shine.

Pro move — For coarse, color-treated, or porosity-imbalanced hair, follow with Atomic Hair Repair Leave-In Treatment on damp hair, then Renew on dry hair for compounded daily conditioning.

THE MATCHED SET

We made the shampoo and conditioner to work together. Acidic. Gentle. Daily. Built for repetition.

Total Refresh pH Balancing Shampoo — Cleanses at pH 5.0–5.5. Removes the day without stripping.

Total Refresh pH Balancing Conditioner — Seals at pH 3.5–4.5. Closes the cuticle that cleansing opens.

Use both, every wash. Together they form one acid-balanced daily ritual. Apart, each works — but the chemistry compounds when they're paired.

BUILT FOR EVERY HAIR

The cuticle-closing chemistry is the same across hair types; the role in the routine shifts by cadence.

Type 1 and 2 (straight to wavy): Daily after wash, mid-lengths to ends. The acidic pH closes the cuticle quickly; gentle enough for fine hair not to weigh down.

Type 3 (curly): Every wash with detangling time. Lipid system supports definition; pair with AquaLush weekly for the deeper conditioning moment.

Type 4 (coily) and high-porosity: AquaLush handles wash-day conditioning on weekly-wash routines (the type 4 baseline by design). Total Refresh Conditioner enters the rotation for mid-week co-washes if you do them.

Color, balayage, keratin, relaxer — all safe at daily frequency. Total Refresh Conditioner was formulated alongside stylists working across every hair type and every chemical service.

If your hair tangles by mid-day, frizzes the second it hits humidity, or refuses to hold the shine from this morning's blow-dry — the conditioner step is where that work gets locked in.

HAIR HEALTH, THE MODERN WAY

We don't believe wellness stops at the body. The way you train, eat, hydrate, recover — your hair deserves the same intentionality. Total Refresh Conditioner is the seal-the-deal step — the two-minute moment between wash and dry that determines what your hair feels like for the rest of the day.

Rooted in Miami. Bright, bold, multicultural, unfiltered. Built for momentum.

FAQ

How often can I use it?
Every wash day. Conditioner runs daily for most hair types. Fine hair may skip occasionally to avoid weighing down at the roots; coarse, color-treated, or porous hair benefits from every-wash use.

Color, keratin, relaxed — safe?
Yes. The acidic pH (3.5–4.5) preserves color, supports keratin, and is safe with relaxed hair across daily use. Many stylists apply directly after a fresh color or chemical service.

"Behentrimonium Methosulfate" — isn't that a sulfate?
No. Despite the name, it's a conditioning quat — a mild, biodegradable conditioning agent. Chemically and functionally distinct from the cleansing sulfates (SLS, SLES) you're rightly avoiding. The "methosulfate" is just a counter-ion that helps the conditioning agent disperse in water. We chose it because it's gentle, effective on damaged hair, and one of the milder conditioning quats in the category.

Do I need this if Total Refresh Shampoo already conditions in the wash?
Yes, for most hair. Fine hair sometimes finds the shampoo sufficient on its own, but every other hair type benefits from the conditioning step — the shampoo conditions during the wash, the conditioner seals after it. Different chemistry, different jobs.

Made where?
Formulated and bottled in Miami.
