Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1: The Biotin-Conjugated Peptide in Oli G

Ingredient File · Peptides

Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 — the workhorse peptide.

A biotin-conjugated tripeptide. The peptide carrier delivers biotin into the hair fiber, where it acts on the keratin matrix instead of washing off the surface. Found in four of the seven Oli G products.

01 · The molecule

What Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is

Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is a small peptide consisting of three amino acids (a tripeptide) conjugated to a biotin molecule. Biotin — also called vitamin B7 — is a coenzyme involved in keratin production. Attaching biotin to a short peptide carrier was developed as a delivery strategy: the peptide carries the biotin into the hair fiber, where it can act on the keratin matrix rather than washing off the surface.

Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is INCI-listed under that exact name.

02 · The mechanism

How it works

The peptide carrier portion of Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is small enough to pass the cuticle barrier and enter the cortex. Once inside:

  1. Reinforces keratin structure — the tripeptide binds to broken keratin chain sites, stabilizing the local protein architecture.
  2. Delivers biotin to keratin-producing cells — when used at the scalp, the conjugated biotin supports the cellular biosynthesis of keratin.
  3. Improves mechanical resilience — the literature reports improved fiber strength, elasticity, and resistance to breakage with consistent use.

For hair fiber repair, the relevant mechanism is structural reinforcement. The biotin component is along for the ride; the tripeptide is doing the work inside the cortex.

Why we use it in four products

Atomic Hair Repair Leave-In — every wash, damp hair

The daily peptide deposit. Paired with SH-Oligopeptide-78 for a dual-peptide system. Applied to damp hair at pH 7.0–8.0 so the cuticle is open and accepts the deposit.

AquaLush Peptide Fiber Mask — weekly intensive

The deep-flood treatment. Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 plus hydrolyzed keratin plus a 10-amino-acid complex and silk amino acids. Used in place of conditioner once a week for high-damage hair.

Chemical Addiction Peptide Bonding Spray — before heat

The post-styling deposit. Sprayed onto damp or dry hair before heat tools. The acidic pH (3.5–4.6) closes the cuticle around peptides already deposited from Atomic.

Renew Porosity Balancing Oil — damp ends, every wash

The lipid-format peptide deposit. Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 in an oil base with jojoba, vitamin E, and vitamin A. Compatible with color, bleach, and gloss services.

Four touchpoints across the system means consistent peptide presence in the cortex across cleansing, styling, and treatment.

04 · Compatibility

Safe with everything

  • Color-safe: Yes. No interaction with color molecules.
  • Bleach-safe: Yes. Safe to apply before and after bleach services.
  • Chemical service compatible: Yes. No protocol gap with keratin treatments, relaxers, or perm services.
  • Pregnancy-safe: Topical biotin and short peptides have no known systemic absorption concerns when used at typical cosmetic levels. As always, consult your physician.
  • Allergen profile: Low. Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is not on common allergen lists.
05 · The protocol

How to use it

The default sequence Oli G stylists recommend:

  1. Wash with Total Refresh shampoo (or Pure Detox if it’s clarifier day).
  2. Condition with Total Refresh conditioner.
  3. Towel-dry to damp.
  4. Apply Atomic Leave-In (Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 + SH-Oligopeptide-78). Comb through.
  5. Apply Renew oil (Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 in oil format) to mid-lengths and ends.
  6. Before heat styling, apply Chemical Addiction (Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 in spray format).
  7. Once a week, replace conditioner with AquaLush mask (Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 + hydrolyzed keratin).

Four peptide touchpoints, compounding week over week.

Peptide deposit, four times a wash day.
