For Type 4 + Coily Hair

For Type 4 + Coily Hair

Same system.
Calibrated for Type 4.

Same peptide chemistry that works for every texture, calibrated for the way Type 4 hair actually shows up. Wash-day flow, dosing ladders, protective-style protocols, and a full relaxer routine — baked into the product copy, gathered here in one place.

The framework

Same peptides. Different rhythm.

Most premium haircare brands segment by hair type — and lose Type 4 customers in the process. Oli G runs the same chemistry across every texture, because the damage that chemistry repairs is universal. What changes by texture is the cadence, the dose, and the ritual. This page gathers the Type 4 version of all three.

01

Same chemistry.

Oligopeptides slip past the cuticle and into the cortex, where damage actually lives. Botanical lipids replace what porosity strips. The molecular work doesn’t change by texture.

02

Different cadence.

Weekly wash days. Wash-and-go cycles. Protective installs that last six weeks. The system bends to your rhythm — not the other way around.

03

Calibrated for the rituals.

Takedowns, twist-outs, braid installs, relaxer touch-ups, scalp care under sew-ins. The Type 4 ritual is its own architecture. The chemistry meets it where it lives.

The Type 4 Routine

Six products. Your rhythm.

The same six products that work for everyone else — with Type 4 cadence, dosing, and method baked in. Tap any step for the full product page.

01

Pure Detox Clarifying Shampoo

Cleanse · Weekly wash day + in-style scalp care + pre-takedown

The weekly clarifier resets the cuticle so peptide treatments can actually do their work. Used full-strength on wash day, diluted with a scalp brush during long-wear installs, and as the two-lather reset at takedown before AquaLush.

Chemical Addiction Peptide Bonding Spray

Protect · Pre-relaxer, pre-flat iron, pre-color, pre-keratin

The pre-service peptide layer. Sprayed before the relaxer base oil, before the flat iron, before color or lift, before keratin. Peptides reinforce keratin sites under the service chemistry. The 7-day relaxer protocol is on the Chemical Addiction product page.

AquaLush Peptide Fiber Mask

Hydrate · Wash-day conditioning step (replaces conditioner)

On weekly-wash routines, AquaLush replaces the standard conditioner step. Ten minutes after Pure Detox, on every wash day. Peptide-lipid web that locks moisture inside the high-porosity Type 4 fiber. Post-takedown, this is the recovery moment.

Renew Porosity Balancing Oil

Nourish · M&S seal step + nightly ends-sealing during installs

The seal step in the Moisturize & Seal method. Eight to ten drops for high-density coily — more, not less. Applied mid-lengths to ends, with a few drops at the scalp acceptable where natural sebum doesn’t travel down the spiral. Nightly on exposed ends during 4–6 week installs.

Total Refresh pH Balancing Shampoo + Conditioner

Balance · Optional co-wash + post-relaxer cuticle close

For Type 4 routines built around weekly washing, Total Refresh isn’t the daily wash — AquaLush handles that role. But the conditioner’s acidic pH (3.5–4.5) is the cuticle-closer post-relaxer, after the first wash, replacing AquaLush in the wash-to-wash routine while the cuticle re-sets.

Atomic Hair Repair Leave-In Treatment

Restore · Daily on damp hair + mid-day refresh on dry

5–8 pumps for high-density coily, focused mid-lengths to ends. The peptide load compounds across the stretched week on weekly-wash routines, where Atomic carries daily repair between washes. Mid-day refresh on twist-outs and wash-and-go cycles. Won the 2025 Prevention Hair Award for a reason.

For Protective Styles

Six weeks under. The full protocol.

Braids, twists, locs, sew-ins, wigs. The scalp keeps producing oil. Product residue accumulates. Hair needs protection through the install — not just on takedown day.

Before the install

  • Day 3–5 before: Pure Detox to clarify. A clean canvas before the install.
  • Same wash: AquaLush, ten minutes. Load the fiber with peptides + lipids before it gets braided away.
  • Day before: Atomic on damp hair as the install dries. Renew on the ends.
  • Day-of: Hair installed clean, conditioned, and peptide-loaded for the long stretch.

During the install

  • Weekly: Pure Detox diluted 1:3 with water, applied with a scalp brush directly to the scalp. 60 seconds of massage, rinse careful not to soak the style.
  • Nightly: Renew on exposed ends, especially around the perimeter where friction wears protection down.
  • 2x weekly: Mist + Atomic on the lengths of the install where the hair shows. Refresh, don’t saturate.
  • Optional: Chemical Addiction before any sun, pool, or salt-water exposure.

After takedown

  • First wash: Pure Detox, two consecutive lathers. The first lifts surface residue; the second deep-cleans.
  • Same wash: AquaLush for the full ten minutes. The recovery moment that resets weeks of compounded buildup.
  • Daily for one week: Atomic on damp hair, generous dose. Renew nightly on ends.
  • Week two onward: Back to the wash-day routine until the next install.
For Chemically-Straightened Hair

Relaxer is a chemical service. It deserves the same care.

Premium peptide-haircare has historically skipped past chemically-straightened hair. We didn’t. The Oli G system has a full pre-relaxer and post-relaxer protocol — built into the chemistry, written down on the product page, validated by stylists working relaxers every day.

Why It Works for Coily

Peptides, porosity, and density.

Three structural facts about Type 4 hair drove the calibration. None of them are caveats. All of them are why this system works.

Peptides

They go inside the fiber.

Oligopeptides are short chains of amino acids — small enough to slip past the cuticle and into the cortex, where Type 4 damage often lives after relaxers, color, and heat. Once inside, they bond to broken keratin sites and reinforce the structure. Not a coating. A repair.

Porosity

Coily is high-porosity by structure.

Not damage — structure. The cuticle scales sit slightly raised along the spiral; that’s how the fiber gets its bend. The lipid layer that protects flat-cuticle hair sits less reliably on coily strands. Renew’s jojoba oil replaces what coily structure has less of by default.

Density

Dose by density. Not by stigma.

Type 4 high-density coily hair often needs more product per application — 8–10 drops of Renew, 5–8 pumps of Atomic. “A little goes a long way” is a Type 1 instruction. Dose ladders span the full density range, with the higher end calibrated for the hair that earns it.

Find your rhythm.

Same chemistry. Different cadence. Built for the way your hair actually works.

Same chemistry. Different rituals. Same hair stronger than ever.
