How It Works
The science of stronger hair, in plain English.
Most haircare brands talk about repair. We can tell you exactly how it happens.
Oli G is built around oligopeptides — short-chain amino acids small enough to slip past the cuticle and into the cortex, where damage actually lives. While most products coat the surface, oligopeptides go inside the fiber and bond to broken keratin sites, helping the hair rebuild the protein structure that heat, color, chemistry, and time have torn down.
Tiny molecules. Heavyweight results.
What’s an oligopeptide?
A peptide is a chain of amino acids — the building blocks your hair is already made of. An oligopeptide is a short chain — typically 2 to 20 amino acids — short enough to penetrate, long enough to bond. Think of them as the precision instruments of protein chemistry. Big enough to do real structural work. Small enough to actually get where the work needs doing.
Most “protein treatments” use hydrolyzed proteins that are too large to enter the hair shaft. They sit on the outside, coat the cuticle, and wash away within a few shampoos. That’s not repair — that’s a finish.
Oligopeptides are different. They’re a delivery system designed to reach the cortex, where keratin breaks down and damage compounds.
Inside your hair fiber.
They penetrate.
The oligopeptide molecule is small enough to pass the cuticle’s protective scales and enter the hair shaft.
They bond.
Once inside, they attach to broken keratin sites — the micro-fractures left behind by bleach, hot tools, chemical services, UV, friction, and chlorine.
They reinforce.
Oligopeptides mimic the structure of Type II keratin — the same protein your hair is built from — so they integrate with the existing fiber architecture and reinforce it.
They stay.
Because they bond inside the fiber, the effect builds over weeks of use — not just in the rinse.
Hair that feels stronger, looks shinier, holds shape, and recovers faster from the things that wear it down.
The whole brand, built around the molecule.
Oli G’s CEO came across oligopeptides while researching advanced cosmetic biotechnology — a category of ingredients that had been transforming skincare for years but had barely touched haircare. The opportunity was obvious: a haircare brand built around the most precise repair technology available, paired with the lipid-and-moisture ritual hair actually needs to feel and look its best.
That’s the whole brand. The name is a nod to the molecule. Every formula is built around it. The line exists because the science works.
“Oli G’s name is a playful nod to the star of the show ingredient, oligopeptides — the company’s CEO came across the tiny molecules while exploring advanced cosmetic biotechnology for targeted hair repair.”
— The Tease, August 2025
Oligopeptides do the work. The rest of the formula supports them.
Lipids
Marula oil · Shea butter · Jojoba · Squalane
Replace the natural oils stripped out by hot tools and harsh detergents. Restore softness, slip, and shine.
Humectants
Panthenol · Glycerin · Hyaluronic acid
Pull moisture into the fiber and hold it there. The hydration layer that lipids alone can’t deliver.
Amino acids & botanical proteins
10-amino-acid complex · Quinoa · Soy
Smooth the cuticle and reinforce the surface without buildup. Compatible with daily use.
pH-balancing acids
Citric · Lactic
Close the cuticle after cleansing so everything underneath stays sealed in. Every Oli G cleanser is pH-tested — the wrong pH leaves the cuticle open and undoes the work underneath.
Across the line: paraben-free, phthalate-free, color-safe, keratin-safe. Five of six formulas are sulfate-free — the only exception is Pure Detox, the weekly clarifier, which uses Sodium Laureth Sulfate by design. A clarifier without a sulfate isn’t really clarifying.
Built with stylists. Recognized in the press.
Oli G is formulated alongside working stylists across every hair type, texture, and chemical service. The line has been featured in People, CNN, Hola, Beauty Launchpad, American Salon, and The Tease.
The Atomic Hair Repair Leave-In Treatment was named 2025 Award Winning Nourishing Cream by Prevention Hair Awards Australia. American Salon’s coverage led with the mechanism — oligopeptides as the line’s hero ingredient that mimics Type II keratin and delivers structural repair without weight.
Hairstylist Vienna Scott-Vince, featured in People Magazine, points to clarifying followed by a pH-balanced hydrating step as essential maintenance — especially against sweat, saltwater, chlorine, and sun. The Oli G system is built that way by design.
Five steps. Plus AquaLush.
The full Oli G system is built in five steps plus AquaLush — each engineered around the peptide story. Each step works alone. The full system is engineered to compound.
Pure Detox
The weekly clarifier that resets the cuticle and lifts buildup. Pre-treatment for everything that follows.
Chemical Addiction
Pre-service defense before heat, color, or chemistry. The peptide goes in before the damage event.
Renew
The dry-hair finisher that balances porosity, locks in shine, and replaces the lipid layer porous hair has lost.
Total Refresh
The gentle daily shampoo and matched cuticle-closing conditioner — pH-calibrated to work with hair’s natural chemistry, every wash day.
Atomic
The daily peptide reinforcement on damp hair. Where the structural repair compounds, day over day.
Peptide Fiber Mask
The weekly intensive that replaces conditioner once a week. Deep hydration plus peptide repair, paired with the five steps.
Each step is engineered to work alone. The full system is engineered to compound.
Quick answers, straight up.
Are oligopeptides safe for color, bleach, keratin, and relaxer?
Yes. Oligopeptides work on the protein structure of the hair itself, not on the chemistry of color or treatment services. Every Oli G formula is tested across the full range of chemical services.
Will I see results in one use?
You’ll feel softness and slip immediately. Structural repair compounds over weeks of consistent use. Real change to hair strength is a four-to-six-week story, not a one-wash story.
Is this just another protein treatment?
No. Most protein treatments use large hydrolyzed proteins that sit on the cuticle’s surface and rinse away. Oligopeptides are smaller, penetrate the cortex, and bond inside the fiber. That’s a structural difference, not a marketing one.
Can I use Oli G with my other products?
Yes. The system is designed to layer. Oligopeptide treatments work with heat tools, styling products, and other brands — they’re working on the protein layer underneath everything else.
